A postdoctoral position, starting Dec 1, 2004, is available at the
Molecular Biology Institute, UCLA.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) participation in the
management and application development for the TB Structural Genomics
Consortium database and website.
The candidate will oversee several projects by other group members
as well as manage their own application development.
These projects will involve the development of new algorithms and data
mining techniques, the goal of which is to improve the production and
crystallization of proteins in the structural genomics pipeline.
Development of prediction algorithms for improved Structural Genomics
target selection is also encouraged.
The candidate is expected to have adequate background in bioinformatics
and be informed of basic biophysical and biochemical techniques used in
any structural biology laboratory. Proficiency in computer programming is
preferred (Perl/C++/PHP/MySQL in the Linux environment). The position is available
initially for one-year and extensible beyond this period. Please send
