CONVERSION TABLE
This table lists the
names of sortase enzymes that have been described in the literature and their
corresponding name in the database. In most
cases, the characterized enzymes are members of the SrtA and SrtB subfamilies
and in the database are named accordingly. However in S.
pyogenes, S. pneumoniae (strain TIGR4) and S. suis (strain NCTC) multiple sortase
enzymes have been identified (SrtA, SrtB, SrtC, SrtD, etc.) and no common
convention has been used in their naming.
