This tutorial will cover the following topics:

Browsing the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and learning about 3D structures. Viewing ,manipulating and modifying 3D structures on your computer.

If you plan to run this tutorial using your home or lab computer to view the molecules. then, you must install:

FOR PCs: WITH MICROSOFT WINDOWS (98, Me, 2000 & XP)

CHIME for PC, RASMOL for PC, SwissPDBViewer for PC and WebLabViewer for PC.
OPTIONAL:To view electron density maps you need to install Python first and then Pymol .

FOR MACs (PPC)

Install Chime for MAC, and RASMOL for MAC-PPC and Swiss-Pdb Viewer for MAC .
OPTIONAL:To view electron density maps you need to install Pymol (Huge File ~ 40Mb.

FOR LINUX (Intel)

Install Rasmol for linux , SwissPDBViewer for Linux .
OPTIONAL:To view electron density maps you need to install Pymol .

You must have Netscape version 4.79 or Internet explorer 6.0 (or higher). Chime will not work with Netscape 6.0 and higher.
